Scholarship Applicant Requirements: ​

The applicant must be one of the following:

The dependent child of an Active Duty/AGR (Active Guard/Reserve) U.S. military sponsor assigned or attached to Fort Knox.

The dependent child of a deceased or retired member of the U.S. Military Forces residing in the Fort Knox area.*

A child residing in the Fort Knox area* who is the dependent of an Active Duty/AGR U.S. military sponsor.

A dependent child must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning (i.e. college, vocational, or correspondence) during the current academic year and pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Persons pursuing a second undergraduate or graduate degree are NOT ELIGIBLE.

A dependent child may only apply for a continuing education scholarship three times (four total if they applied as seniors).

Disclaimer - Students enrolled at a Service Academy are not eligible for this scholarship. ​

*The Fort Knox area shall heretofore be identified as Fort Knox Housing and/or Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Jefferson, Larue, Meade, Nelson, Spencer, and Washington Counties in Kentucky as well as Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties in Indiana.
The application is a Google Form, which you will not be able to save or edit after starting. All application information is being provided to you now so that you can prepare your answers in advance.

Please have the following information ready before beginning your application.

Information on the military sponsor to include name and status. Proof of status must be uploaded or emailed. All documents should be redacted to remove Social Security Numbers and any dates of birth other than the applicant's (examples of proof of status include a copy of the orders assigning the Military Sponsor to Fort Knox, the Sponsor's DD Form 214 or Retirement Orders, or DD Form 1300 for families of deceased Service Members).

Student information to include name, date of birth, email address, phone number, residential address, and county of residence.

College information to include name, current year, field of study, and student identification number.

Accomplishments: anything that you accomplished during the current academic year (the summer between the end of the last academic year and the start of this academic year counts as the current academic year).

Writing Sample: You must complete three short answer questions for this scholarship application. Note: While elements of your writing style will be evaluated (grammar, spelling, word selection, etc.), we are more interested in hearing what you have to say and getting to know you as a person.

Question 1: Please tell us about yourself. In your own words, please share what achievements, personality traits, skills, and experiences make you an ideal candidate for this scholarship. Minimum word count: 100. Maximum word count: 150.

Question 2: Please share with us a challenge you faced this year, either academic or personal, and how you are working to overcome it. Maximum word count: 250.

Question 3: Please share with us how you see your degree impacting your future (what you are doing and how it impacts what you are working toward). Maximum word count: 250.

Letter of Recommendation: You must provide one (1) letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee from someone who is in a supervisory or advisory position to you (coach, teacher, counselor, employer, volunteer supervisor, etc.). The letter of recommendation cannot be from a family member. The letter of recommendation format can be found on the Fort Knox Spouses and Community Club Scholarship page. Please download the form and provide it to your recommender. The forms may be uploaded in the application or emailed to scholarships@fortknoxscc.com.

Upload or email a copy of your headshot to be used for publicity purposes should you be selected to receive a scholarship.
